Nearly 70 years later, the 2015 ground breaking design for the hybrid-V8 powered 918 was unveiled with nearly 900 horsepower, by far the fastest car the company had ever released. The 6.8-kWh lithium-ion battery pack is mounted behind the passenger compartment and allows up to a factory-rated 18 miles of range in all-electric “E-drive” mode.Porsche was founded in 1948, building four-cylinder cars with 40 horsepower. An oil change was performed by Beverly Hills Porsche of West Los Angeles, California, in September 2021. Electric motors mounted front and rear and work in conjunction with the gasoline engine for a combined output of 887 horsepower and 944 lb-ft of torque.
It is mated to a seven-speed PDK transaxle and an electro-mechanical limited-slip differential. The dry-sump, mid-mounted 4.6L MR6 90° V8 was derived from the RS Spyder LMP2 car and features a flat-plane crankshaft and titanium connecting rods. Plaques on the center tunnel and rear engine cover identify this chassis as #89 of a total production run of 918 units, approximately 300 of which were built for the US market.

The driver can select from five different driving modes, including E-Drive and two hybrid modes as well as sport and race settings. The leather-wrapped multi-function steering wheel frames a trio of configurable digital gauges that display speed, revs, fuel level, and battery charge.

Equipment includes a Burmester surround sound system with Bluetooth as well as navigation, dual-zone climate control, an elevated center console with a 7″ touchscreen, and a fire extinguisher. The cockpit features carbon-fiber seats trimmed in Onyx leather with Acid Green piping, and Acid Green accents extend to the seatbelts, door panels, dashboard, and steering wheel. Braking is handled by Acid Green-painted six-piston front and four-piston rear calipers over ventilated and drilled carbon-ceramic discs measuring 410mm up front and 390mm out back. The adaptive suspension system incorporates a double-wishbone front and multi-link rear setup, along with rear-axle steering, Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus, and electro-mechanical power steering. The center-lock wheels feature color Porsche crests and are mounted with 265/35ZR20 front and 325/30ZR21 Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires. This example is finished in Basalt Black Metallic (Z4) and features the Porsche Active Aerodynamics system, a backup camera, an Inconel exhaust system, a driver-side fuel door, a passenger-side charging port, and LED headlights. The car features a carbon-fiber-reinforced polymer monocoque chassis as well as removable roof panels. The Michael Mauer-designed 918 Spyder was unveiled as a concept at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show and entered production in September 2013, with all examples produced as 2015 models. This 918 Spyder has 1,800 miles and is now offered on dealer consignment with factory books, an AC battery charger, recent service records, and a clean California title. An oil change was performed in September 2021. Features include a front axle lift system, a stone shield, 20″ and 21″ wheels, rear-axle steering, an Inconel exhaust system, a backup camera, a Burmester surround sound system, dual-zone climate control, and a 6.8-kWh lithium-ion battery pack mounted behind the passenger compartment.
