Nearly 70 years later, the 2015 ground breaking design for the hybrid-V8 powered 918 was unveiled with nearly 900 horsepower, by far the fastest car the company had ever released. The 6.8-kWh lithium-ion battery pack is mounted behind the passenger compartment and allows up to a factory-rated 18 miles of range in all-electric “E-drive” mode.Porsche was founded in 1948, building four-cylinder cars with 40 horsepower. An oil change was performed by Beverly Hills Porsche of West Los Angeles, California, in September 2021. Electric motors mounted front and rear and work in conjunction with the gasoline engine for a combined output of 887 horsepower and 944 lb-ft of torque.

It is mated to a seven-speed PDK transaxle and an electro-mechanical limited-slip differential. The dry-sump, mid-mounted 4.6L MR6 90° V8 was derived from the RS Spyder LMP2 car and features a flat-plane crankshaft and titanium connecting rods. Plaques on the center tunnel and rear engine cover identify this chassis as #89 of a total production run of 918 units, approximately 300 of which were built for the US market.
